PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES, MAY 10, 1999
Call To Order: Vice Chair Dahlquist called the meeting to order at 5:35 p.m. Present: Commissioners
Vogt and Wasescha. Absent: Commissioners Hedlund and Schultz. Staff Present: City Planner Richards
and Community Development Secretary Hultman. Absent: Community Development Director
Danielson.
Approval of Agenda: Wasescha, seconded by Vogt, moved to approve the Agenda. Carried 3 -0.
Visitors None
Old Business: None
New Business:
A. A request by Rav Kennedy for site plan approval for an office /warehouse building at 5650
Memorial Ave. N. within the Kern Center: Richards reviewed the proposed project with the
Commission and discussed issues of concern with them. The applicant, Ray Kennedy, was
present and addressed the issues presented. General discussion ensued regarding the exterior
building design, lighting, signage, parking, vehicle maneuverability, and curb and gutter
placement requirements.
Vogt, seconded by Wasescha, moved to recommend approval, subject to the conditions
established in the City Planners report dated May 4, 1999, with condition number 3 amended to
require curb and gutter placement. Carried 3 -0.
Wasescha, seconded by Vogt, moved to recommend that the City Council review the City's
policy on curb and gutter requirements for the Kern Center. Carried 3 -0.
Informational /Update:
A. City Council /Commission meeting follow -up Agendas: Receipt acknowledged.
Adjournment: Wasescha, seconded by Vogt, moved to adjourn at 6:25 p.m. Carried 3 -0.
