At-a-Glance Administration Console
Access the Administration Console by&.
SelectingStart > All Programs > Laserfiche>Laserfiche 8 Administration Console
Or
Launch the Laserfiche Client and at any time select Tools > Administration Console
If the Server & Repository have both been registered, you should see the following&
(Please note that Auditing & Records Management are add-on modules that may not be part of your system)
Users and Groups
Create new Users, Groups, and Window Accounts in the system.
To Create a new user&
1. Select Users
2. Select the New Item Icon in the Toolbar
3. From the New Users window you can set method of
authentication, group membership, rights and privileges,
access to Tags, and Attributes. Select Ok when finished.
Metadata Management
Create and manage new Templates, Fields, Tags, Document
Relationships and Public Stamps.
Sessions
View who is logged into the system and what license they are using.
Users can be manually disconnected from the system by simply right-
clicking on the user and selecting Disconnect User.
Checked Out Documents
Quickly see all checked out documents in the system; including who checked it out, when and why (if they provided a
comment). Manually undo checked out documents by right-clicking on the doc and selecting Undo Check Out.
Recycle Bin
Disable/enable the recycle bin and set auto purge options from the Settings node. View all documents in the recycle
bin from the Global node, or view a breakout by user from the Users node. Right-click documents restore or delete.
Volumes
View, create and manage volumes from this node. Right click on a volume to view properties. It is from the General tab
in the properties window where a volume can be disabled, marked Read-only or Permanent. The Maximum Size
tab will allow a user to limit the size of the volume and allows for a volume roll-over to be enabled.
Index
By selecting the Index node, you should see the index status as Ready. Re-index at any time by right clicking on the
status, selecting All Tasks > Index > Reindex the Whole Repository. View the properties window to set Queue size,
Auto-index, set the Search Catalog path and identify Stop Words.
Repository Options
View and manage repository settings and password policies.
Server Settings
The Server Settings node displays ports in use and also allows for the Flexible Licensing option whereby read-only
users can pull from the read-write licensing pool (should all read-only licenses be in use).
System Managers
Only System Managers are allowed to perform certain actions like repository creation or registration. Designate
Windows domain account users as system managers from this node. Select the New Item Icon in the toolbar.
Connections
