Building Addition and Remodeling
Project Description
The project consists of an expansion and remodeling of the existing 10,500 square foot retail and service
facility. The building expansion consists of a 27,700 square foot addition to the west and north of the
existing building. This expansion will comprise primarily of an added showroom/sales area, a parts
department, service department /repair area, employee lounge, general office and a warehouse. The
existing building remodeling consists primarily of demolition, removal and modifications of existing
exterior walls and interior partitions, a new building main entrance, sales offices, service write -up area
and men's and women's restro oms .
The Sitework includes an expanded bituminous parking lot and loading dock/delivery area with concrete
curb and gutter, storm water drainage, landscaping and lawnsprinkler.
Building construction shall be a single story, concrete slab -on -grade floor, masonry structure utilizing
rock -face concrete masonry units to match the existing facility. The building addition west of the
existing building shall be approximately 3 feet higher than the existing building. The roof structure shall
comprise of steel bar joists and metal decking with a built -up bituminous asphalt hot mopped roof. The
main entry shall be enclosed by aluminum window wall construction with a high gabled, prefinished,
standing seam, metal roof. Most exterior window systems shall start from the floor elevation.
