Johnson; Jay Johnson; Dennis Postler; Scott Richards; Mark Vierling Subject: DDDLLC - Landscaping Inspection Second Building O P H Staff I have inspected the landscaping on the DDDLLC site and have the following comments: 1. The landscaping for the second building is in and the plants are all there and were in good condition when planted. 2. The trees are not the species indicated in the landscape plan, but are acceptable and are large, healthy specimens with good form. 3. Many of the trees need water. Some of the frees (NE area of lot) are planted with large rocks (rip -rap) over the roots. These trees should be mulched with wood chips to keep roots cool and moist. 4. 1 also again inspected the landscaping for the first phase. The maples are very stressed and should be watered. At least three of the trees and as many as five may not survive. I suggest holding some escrow, if possible, in case trees need to be replaced (5 trees = $2200.). The trees, as previously recommended, should be mulched with 4 in. of wood chip mulch from trunk to branch spread to keep roots cool and moist, which encourages root production and enhances survival.
