G: i�n��'i'�s..A i.:'Sli li in •1'i �. �IIH� Yiliiil l�i.�� l "�'�'i�l:'�E'��nni�ll�ll lii:l �4ll��J ' }klls�Elu'll�l,i��i��,ik lkli ll.l lli� ��kli�um,l u,4 ��iid�a l li�.r.. kill W + - ...a Y.. ..liuul�4 u u..s f Memo To iris Danielson Community Development Director City of oak Park heights Prom: Katharine D. widin 11/30199 Municipal Arborist City of Oak Park heights Re; Landscaping Issues - Burger King I inspected the landscaping at Burger King again today and made the following observations: 1. the twine tied to the base of the trees and large shrubs - has been removed 2., yellow flagging and labels are attached to the trunks of several of the trees - have been removed as far as 1 could tell - many of the trees had their trunks wrapped with tree wrap. 3. burlap on top of root balls - this his not been removed or folded back as recommended; however, at this point, since the plants have been in place for so long, I would not recommend digging up the plants to accomplish this. 4. exposed burlap - one sugar maple in a parking lot median where there is rock mulch, has exposed burlap at the top of the root ball. This should be covered with soil and then re- covered with the rock mulch. If the burlap is not covered, moisture will wick out of the root ball, killing the absorbing roots of the tree.
