Memo
TO: City Council Members FROIV: Eric JOnsgri, City Administrator
The City has not received any new applications. The Feb 14th Planning
Commission will be again discussing possible amendments to Oakgreen Village.
SUPERAMERICA has been reminded that their sites are not in compliance, and
must remove the kiosks that hold trade/real-estate magazines.
The City has provided SPRINT with its updated month lease fee, the rate is
now$2,187 per month and is 5 Percent over last year and which is the minimum
amount. If inflation was above 5% then that increase would have been
required. To date the City has received over $85,000 in lease revenues from This
agreement.
On Thursday I had a brief conversation with Erick Dove of the D. Hecker
organization requesting an update on their new dealership project. At this time
they have indicated that are stilt reviewing options to establish a new location
but MAY instead be consolidating operations at the Ford site, yet much is
undetermined. As always, approved projects have 1 year from their date of
approval to proceed, accordingly they have several months to actually move
forward with their plans. I have asked Mr. Dove to prepare a short letter advising
the City of their official position.
One of the discussions at the recent Citizen Advisory Meeting, at the Council's directive as
an update from Steve Mattson to the Committee about the current financial markets for
bonding/borrowing. Mr. Mattson gave a similar rundown to the Committee as the Council
did generally receive. I have enclosed the spreadsheets that demonstrate fiscal impacts for
a $2, $4 and $6.5 Million bond issuance. The next meeting is Feb 19th - 4pm.
Judy Hoist has prepared a short memo on the refinancing/payoff of the GO Improvement
Bonds as issued in 1998. At this time the plan is to pay these bonds off in April/May. A
resolution is being prepared for the Feb 26th meeting.
O The City received a thank you letter for its joining ihe Minnesota Association of Small
Cities for 2008
