HomeMy WebLinkAbout05-09-08 Weekly Notes Reference ;CITY OF OAK PARK HEIGHTS! t Memo ' " To: City Council Members FROM: Eric Johns , Ci istrata WEEKLY.NOTES - May 9th 2008 Zoninq J Development Items. D. Hecker did submit an application to amend the Conditional use Permit for the former Cadillac store site, (now Stillwater Ford), essentially, they seek a further delay in the conditions that require curb/gutter improvements and final disposition of the AMOCO gas station site. This is slated for the June Planning Commission. I have send a second correspondence to MNDOT c/o Nick Thompson asking that the Department please better maintain the ;mill Road Inn site or please demolish the site and return it to a clean, level condition. The site is collecting trash, broken windows, and general dilapidation. The Washington county Tax Court (IOth Judicial District) has found that the property as owned by Robert Brackey, in front and to the west of enard's may not be classified as AGRICULTUAL for taxation purposes. I testified at the proceeding in April, along with staff from Washington County Assessors office. What the net property fax valuation will be remains to be determined, but will be substantially more than the previous AG. Valuation, now to be valued as commercial property. I have enclosed for your files a copy of the ruling. I have issued a zoning letter for the Goodwill property, apparently that site is being sold to a new owner, please recall that GOODWILL is solely a renter. On this matter, I met at the site with GOODWILL staff and building contractor to go over a few remaining items related to time lights need to be dimmed or shut --off, a few landscaping issues and sod issues. The City had received a complaint from a resident at Pondview. H.S.I. did comment on the contemplated rental housing inspection ordinance. This to date has been the only written commentary received. This will be on your agenda for final adoption, on May 27th. Jim Butler did provide a copy of an enforcement letter to 6351 St. Croix grail related to fire rating on entry -exit doors. OTHER ITEMS: I have enclosed a chart from Tarn Ozzello that outlines the PW work schedule for May through August. Frankly, it is a complicated schedule and isn't something that should be thought of as a guaranty or even fully comprehended by non - users). It is just best to understand that that the Department has worked out the schedule for the full summer including weekends (mostly Andrew ) and on call duties. Trying to accommodate vacation time in this department takes some thought. Just realize that there IS a plan. Page 1 of 40
