After completion of the inspections I have the following observations and recommendations: Phase 2 building top of ball and around base of trunk junipers E side of Coldstone Creamery building at least 4 are half dead Replace any which are at least half brown honeylocust Phase 2 slow to leaf out most are continuing to produce leaves — re-evaluate at end of growing season for possible replacement Shoppes of Oak Park Heights ----- Landscape Inspection — 6/05 -- 2 spruce Fraser fir flowering crabapple spruce lindens N side parking lot just west of Ruby Tuesday SW corner EB Games NE corner Ruby Tuesday parking lot east of Discount Tire S end Phase 2, east side just N of parking lot with Phase 1 tree over 1/3 brown/bare of needles tree is 1/3 brown — tips and some branches Twine and some kind of plastic around base of trunk several spruce have lost most of their needles 2 with root balls exposed and drying (very yellow foliage), little soil over ball and no mulch; 1 further east has twine and burlap still intact and no mulch Replace re- evaluate at end of growing season for possible replacement Remove twine, plastic and any burlap over top of root ball, recover with soil and mulch Replace Remove twine and burlap (if necessary) from top of root balls, recover with soil and mulch; re- evaluate ones with yellowed foliage at end of growing season for possible replacement. If replacement plants cannot be put in before July 1 and watered well once per week (sprinkler system is not necessarily adequate), re- planting lanting should be done after August 15 I am available to meet with representatives of the development and landscape contractors to explain problems or recommendations if they are unclear to them. Some work may have been done since my latest inspection, and references to the problems which have been corrected can be disregarded.
