Several large oaks on the east side of the entrance road (on Kiefer property?) have been wounded and these wounds should be painted immediately to prevent insect transmission of the oak wilt fungus. It would also be good to put tree protection fencing along this line of oaks to protect them from further encroachment, especially if they are not on McKean Square property. 2. There was to be tree protection fencing around several smaller pin oaks which are just north of the large wetland on the southeast end of the property. There is just caution tape around these trees and it should be replaced by fencing. 3. The tree protection fencing is down on one side of a large oak by the roadway going through the oak savanna knoll in the SE portion of the property, just north of the large wetland. This fencing should be put back up. 4. Why is there a gap in the tree protection fencing on the south side of the property? Even though the grading is supposed to be away from these trees there will be equipment down near there to dig the detention basin. There is no silt fencing there either because of the grading plan but tree protection fencing should be put up to close that gap. 5. Nearer the SW corner of the property there is an area where a lot of soil has been piled up within 20 feet of some trees on the south boundary. There should be tree protection fencing here as well as silt fencing to protect the trees and also serve as a 'good neighbor" gesture. 6. There is a multi --stem tree by itself just north of the small wetland in the middle of the property. This tree has fencing all around it. It is a European buckthorn, an invasive tree, and should be removed. The scrubby trees to the east of it, silver maple, cherry and buckthorn should also be removed. I have spoken with Tom Able of A &P today regarding these issues and some other trees he would like me to look at. We will inspect all these areas on site early Wed. a.m..
