Oak Park Heights, MN 55082 Ref: Fence Dear Mr. Lacher, On May 20, 2010, you contacted the Building Inspection Department requesting an inspection on the placement of the fence post holes. As noted on the Building Permit issued for this project, you were to have a string strung from the rear property survey pin to the front property survey pin and all of the fence structure was to be painted prior to installation. When I conducted that inspection the line was not in.place. I informed you that it appeared to me that the post holes were not in a straight line; therefore, I failed the inspection. Enclosed is a copy of the inspection report. I asked that you run a string from pin to pin and call me back for a re- inspection. To date I have not received that request, but was notified today that construction of the fence was taking place. Upon a site visit to inspect the project I requested the contractor, your son -in -law Mr. Eric Foster, to run a string from the rear survey pin to the front survey pin. Measuring the setback distance for the post and the footings, we found all to be on your neighbor's property. All parts of the post and footings must be removed and located solely on your land. It is my understanding that Mr. Foster is proceeding in the relocating of all the posts. You must call me for an inspection of the placement of the posts and footings to verify compliance with the Zoning Code. No further construction is to be done until this inspection is made and approval is granted by me. rely, — rin ut e uilding Official CC: Eric Johnson, City Administrator Julie Hultman, Planning and Code Enforcement Officer Tree City U.S.A. aJ M • Jimmy Butler Subject: Fence Footing Location: 6286 Paris Start: Thu 5/20/2010 9:00 AM End: Thu 5/20/2010 9:30 AM Recurrence: (none) FAILED OWNER DID NOT HAVE A LINE STRUNG FOR ME FROM THE FRONT TO THE REAR PROPERTY LINE PINS, SO THAT I COULD VERIFY THAT THE FENCE WAS ON HIS PROPERTY LINE.
