RE: Oak Park Hei - Menard's Site Issues

Last week I was able to view the Menard's site at ni when all the fixtures were full lit.
The li do not appear to compl with the li plan and the followin issues have
been noted:
1. The cobra head fixtures adjacent to the pallet rack/fencin have not been updated
to include the site visual cutoffs as shown on the plan and re for this
development. The visual cutoffs will need to be installed as soon as possible.
2. The wall pack li attached to the buildin is installed in such a wa to shine
li onto 58th Street and the Autumn Rid residential development. These li
will re shieldin to eliminate the spill over li
3. The li mounted under the awnin on the west side of the Menard's buildin
create much g lare and spill over onto adjacent propert These fixtures will need
to be altered to cut down on the amount of li the create.
4. Menard's will be re to shut down a portion of their li when the store
closes. Onl that amount of li (approximatel 25 percent) that is re for
securit measures will be allowed after store hours.
I discussed the li issues with Gar Colb Senior Project Mana of Menard's, on
Frida 5 December 1997. He indicated that the would address the cut offs for the cobra
head fixtures, the wall pack li and the awnin li within the next two weeks. Gar
also indicated that the will shut their y ard li down b two-thirds after 10:00 PM each

Their year round closing time is 9:90 'M. I indicated that was reasonable as long as the
other lighting issues are addressed. Gary will contact the contractor today and respond
by Monday with more details on how the lighting wi l l be corrected and a schedule of when
it will be done. I can relay that information on the 9 December city council meeting.
