RE: HALL PROPERTY DRAINAGE PROBLEM, OAK PARK HEIGHTS, WASHINGTON
COUNTY
Dear Mr. Anderlik:
I have briefly discussed the situation with the DNR Section of
Wildlife. They currently are not receptive to discussing the proposal
to discharge water to DNR wetland 82 -310P without further information.
Please provide the following:
1) A thorough discussion of the situation, including all alternatives
that have been considered. Is there a possibility of enlarging
the current stormwater pond? How did the city get into this
situation with respect to excess water retention following
development?
2) What volume of water does the city propose to discharge, and at
what rate?
3) Provide specifics as to location and elevation of the pipes, or if
overland, location and size of the channel.
The above information is critical to our consideration of this proposal
because there are already flooding concerns in Bayport. DNR wetland
82 -310P outlets (to the St. Croix River) through Perro Creek, which
occasionally experiences flooding problems. Adding additional water to
this area could aggravate the problem in Bayport.
If you have any questions feel free to call me at 772 -7910.
Sincerely,
Molly C. Shodeen
