RE: Oak Park Heights -- Menard's Signage
FILE NO: 798.11
received a letter from Mark Lee of Menard, Inc. yesterday regarding the allowed gate
canopy and garden center signage. 1 discussed the signage package with him
yesterday as follows:
1. The plans to revise the "in" and "out" signs so that the background is opaque and
the text is illuminated is consistent with the Zoning Ordinance and the approvals.
2. The "lumber yard entrance" sign is acceptable as per the original sign variance.
If this is a new sign face, can the image also be revised so that the background is
opaque and the text is illuminated?
3. The signs on the rear elevation are allowed in that they are internal to the site.
4. The "garden center" identification sign would be allowed if one of the six other
identification signs on the front facade are removed. Menard, Inc. may request a
variance to allow an additional sign if a hardship could be identified.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call.
