Mr. Scott Friday
Walmart Store #1861
5815 Norell Ave. N.
Oak Park Heights, MN 55082
Dear Mr. Friday,
Thank you very much for taking the time this morning to meet with the City's Fire Chief, Mike
Bell and myself to discuss exiting conditions of the store. In our inspection of the store we
observed the following conditions that concern us in regards to safe egress of the building:
1) In the seasonal area the exit sign over the sliding exit door center in the east building
wall leading to the outside garden area should be covered because this is an unused /
unoccupied retail sales area at this time.
2) The main exit doors in the north east corner of the seasonal area should have an
attendant and be operable during the hours of operation this Christmas Season.
3) An exit sign with emergency exit lights shall be installed over the double doors in the
Pharmacy area and an open pathway is to be maintained on the outside of the building.
I commend you on the organized storage rooms and shipping areas. The Fire Chief and I have
never seen these areas as organized and aisle areas clear for proper exiting, should it be
needed.
Again thank you for your time and thank you to your staff for maintaining a safe building.
Sincerely,
( `
