Dear Ms. Schmiesing, On November 15 we spoke regarding the installation of new windows for Mr. Jake Eisenger at his home located at 5335 O'Brien. The permit issued for this project indicated that you were to install eight windows in the existing openings. On November 15 I met Mr. Eisenger at his home to conduct a final inspection of the project. At this time Mr. Eisenger informed me that in two different locations, your installers removed two windows and the framing members between those windows to install one single, larger window in the opening. As per our conversation on November 15 I informed you that with changing the framework of the home, your installers should have called for a framing inspection. I also informed you that I was concerned about the size of the existing headers, whether or not it was one header spanning over both windows, and that I needed written verification from your installer of the framework of the dwelling. Your installer, Robert, called me that same day to discuss his installation procedure in these two locations. I requested a letter from Robert, stating his procedure and verification of the type and size of framing member above the windows. To this date I have received nothing. This letter is to inform you that until I receive this documentation of installation and acceptance by me for compliance to the Minnesota State Building Code is granted, this project is in violation of the Code. If I have not received this documentation by December 3, 2010, I shall have no alternative other than taking further legal action to resolve this issue.
