The two windows located at the front of the house that are now three lite sliders were originally four two lite
sliders. I cut out two 2x6's that ran between the original two lite sliders, which were toe - nailed to the bottom of
the header. Before doing so, I stripped the siding on the outside of the house and probed with a nail to
determine how tall the header was, thus giving me the dimension. It was solid all the way up. I also did the
math subtracting out top plates and 2x6 on the bottom of the header, which gave me 9.25 ", leading me to
believe that there is a 2x10 header in that opening. I repeated this on both lower and upper levels. Upon
cutting the 2x6's in between the windows out, it was apparent that there was absolutely no load bearing down
on these 2x6's. There was no pinching of the blade, there was no load there.
