Box 2007 Oak Park Heights, MN 55082 RE: FY1998 Application - Outdoor Recreation Grant Program Dear Ms. Roberts: As you requested, 1 have enclosed a list of the projects that were selected for funding this year. Competition for the limited state funding was intense. A total of 87 applications were received and we were only able to fund 20 applications. Of the 20 applications funded, some applicants were offer only partial awards. The review of the application involved a careful analysis of each application and an on -site visit of the proposed project. An area of concern regarding the City's application was the proposed park design. The proposed development seem very crowded. In fact, when at the site, it appeared it would be difficult to fit the proposed trail in some areas of the site where it was identified on the map. The map did not have a bar scale and it was unclear if the map had been reduced. Overall, the map did not appear to match the property and area available for the proposed trail development, especially in the playground area.
