Dear Amber;
This is in response to the audit review you sent on Feb 16 2011. Thank you for your time and
effort in the audit. I have responded to the needed issues in the standards you outlined.
Cooperative and working relationships between agencies is paramount to the success of the
agencies.
1. Written Policy Missing Person Reporting: The department did have in place a written policy
requiring Immediate Entry into NCIC. You requested that a time of 2 hrs. be written into the
policy and a reference point of when that occurs. The policy has been changed and a copy has
been attached as you requested.
2. Purpose Code E being used instead of M: I have spoken to Dispatcher Kruse and she had
never been made aware of the implementation of the M code and was relying on her original
training to use the E code. She has now added the M code to her code use list.
3. Single incident of CCH being run for our city attorney's office without the intended recipient
specifically named in the ATN field. It is my understanding this was also new policy
implemented by the state and should not be an issue in the future with our city attorney now
having direct access themselves.
Thank you
Brian DeRosier
