HomeMy WebLinkAbout2002-04-19 OPH Memo Re Issues SummaryTo: Kim Camper, Acting City Administrator Mayor and city council Members From: Kris Danielson, Community Development Director Re: NSP /Xcel Energy conditional Use Permit Brief summary of Issues Please be advised that the city has just received a signed conditional Use Permit from Xcel Energy for the storage building relocation. Prior to his signing this document, the Mayor asked that I distribute out the same with a summary of the reasons why this document was not signed two years ago when the project was reviewed and approved by the city council. The city Attorney and I have actively pursued the conclusion of this matter and have been involved in meetings and discussions with representatives of Xcel Energy and their attorney's for the past two years in an attempt to have this document signed. Work done at the landfill site in relocating the storage building was done prior to any application to the city, and the issuance of the conditional use permit occurred after a stop work notice was issued by the city's Building Official. NsP became Xcel Energy during this time frame, and the corporate change at the time resulted in delays as did the issue of removing the billboard from the site.
