Chief DeRosier,
The 800 MHz Public Safety Radio System went into service in March of 2009 with users from Law
Enforcement, Fire, EMS and Public Works agencies across Washington County. As of December 31,
2010, there are 1383 users on the radio system.
The Communications System Subscriber Agreement that your city and the County entered into stated
on May 1st of each year, the County would notify the users of any proposed changes in the annual
Subscriber Support Fee charged for each radio on the system.
On March 11, 2011, I met with the 800 MHz Radio System Advisory Board and the budget for the
Public Safety Radio System was presented and discussed. With input from the board, the subscriber
support fees for 2012 will remain at $400.00 per year per radio.
The subscriber support fee maintains the system infrastructure by paying for electricity at the sites,
fuel for generators, radio site rent, yearly maintenance on the radio equipment, payroll, MESB fee
- - - -and other cents- associated with- Werating the 80G MHz Radio System.
