PROJECT PURPOSE (why is this project needed - -what benefits will it provide ?): The City of Oak Park Heights is proposing an extension of 57th Street east of Oakgreen Avenue to provide a direct access from the City Hall/Police Station and Public Works Department to and from the western portion of the City. This will help shorten response time for the Police Department in serving the western portion of the City. VII. ALTERNATIVES (describe any ocher sites or methods that could be used to achieve the purpose of your project while avoiding or minimizing wetland'water impacts: Attach additional sheets, if needed). The road segment is short and extends from an existing road so it cannot be aligned to completely avoid the wetland but has been moved as far north as possible to minimize the impact to the wetland. FOR ALL EXEMPTIONS: A landowner draining or filling a wetland under an exemption shall ensure that; appropriate erosion control measures are taken to prevent sedimentation of the water, the drain or fill does not block fish passage, and the drain or file is conducted in compliance with all other applicable federal, state and local requirements, including best management practices and water resource protection requirements established under Minnesota Statutes, Chapter 103H.
