Box 2007 Brian DeRosier Oak Park Heights, Minnesota 55082 Chief of Police Telephone: (651) 439 -4723 Fax: (651) 439 -3639 Emergency: 911 June 21, 2011 Tiffany Gear 1023 Glendale Hills Dr. Rochester, MN 55906 Re: Dog Bite, OPH ICR #11702410 Dear Ms. Gear: This letter is a notice that your dog, Gunner, could be classified as a "potentially dangerous" dog defined in Minnesota State Statute 347.50 subd. 3 (3). In review of the incident it does not appear the dog acted in an aggressive manner before or after this incident. Dogs are animals and can be unpredictable, without further witness information or history that the dog acted in an aggressive manner before or after, I will not be imposing the status of Potentially Dangerous Dog at this time. If your dog receives any subsequent reports of incidents of biting, it may be classified as a "dangerous" dog as defined in 347.50 subd. 2 (3) and the registration requirements in 347.51 would have to be met. Enclosed please find a copy of Minnesota State Statutes 347.50 - 347.56 "Dangerous Dog" for your review. You need to provide our office with confirmation of a follow up visit and rabies vaccination immediately after the 10 day quarantine period which ends 06/27/2011. If you have any questions, please feel free to call. Sincerely, Brian DeRosier Chief of Police
