Re: Gramenz Variance Requests
In regards to the variance request for the number of accessory
buildings and allowable square footage on accessory buildings,
our ordinance currently states;
1) No more than one detached or attached private garage is
allowed.
2) The square footage of an accessory building cannot exceed
150 square feet, even if it is a three car garage.
Please note that both of these requirements are to be deleted in
the adoption of the new zoning ordinance. The new ordinance
shall allow one accessory building with an attached garage, the
total square footage not to exceed 1,000 square feet. With
regard to the above two provisions, Mr. Gramenz will be in
compliance with the new ordinance.
With regards to the setback between structures, the zoning
ordinance requires five feet and Mr. Gramenz is requesting three
feet. At this time Mr. Gramenz would have to extend his existing
concrete slabs to move his structure two feet further away to be
in compliance. This was the result of starting his project prior
to applying for and receiving a building permit.
Pending no objections from any neighbors I recommend that he be
granted the requested variances.

CITY OF OAK PARK HEIGHTS
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
REQUEST FOR VARIANCE
The City of Oak Park Heights will hold a Public Hearing on
Tuesday, August 13, 1996 at 7:30 P.M. at Oak Park Heights City
Hall at 14168 North 57th Street to discuss a request by William &
Sandra Gramenz of 13965 55th Street for Variances from Zoning
Ordinance requirements.
The requested Variances are;
1) To allow a second accessory building on the property,
2) For a reduction in the required distance between a principal
and accessory building from the required 5 feet to 3 feet,
3) To exceed the total square footage allowed for accessory
buildings from the required 150 square feet to 168 square
feet.
All who wish to comment are asked to attend and be heard.
