Re: Permit # 2007 -00113 for a new deck
Dear Mr. Hatalla,
On November 1, 2007, I conducted a final re- inspection on the violations written regarding the
deck stairs not complying with the Building Code. The code requires that all the risers be the
same height, as indicated in the deck handout you received with the issuance of this permit. At
the time of this inspection the corrections had not been made and you stated to me that you
were not going to make the corrections.
This letter is a final request that you make the corrections on the stairs within 30 days from the
date of this letter. I am enclosing another copy of the handout giving you the stair and handrail
Code requirements for decks. Failure to make the necessary corrections to bring the stairs into
compliance of the Building Code is a violation of the Code and is considered a misdemeanor
offence.
A copy of this letter has been placed in your property file at City Hall for record purposes. At
such time the corrections have been made, re- inspected, and found to comply with the Code,
this letter shall be removed from your file. Please contact Julie Hultman at 651- 351 -1661 to
schedule an appointment for a re- inspection once the corrections have been made.
