Subject: TireProz Tree Preservation & Replacement
OPH Staff -
I have reviewed the inventory of significant trees and proposed tree removal and preservation for the
site of the proposed TireProz development. In regards to this, I have the following comments and
calculations:
1. Tree Preservation: The developer should refer to the "Tree Protection Standards" of the City of
Oak Park Heights regarding how to protect trees during development. Tree protection fencing should
be erected outside the branch spread, or at least 10-15 ft. (depending on tree size) from the trunks of
trees to be preserved. Fencing must be put up before construction activity begins, and stay in place
until all construction has been completed.
2. I have inspected the site and confirmed the tree inventory. I made several corrections re; species
and size, but, overall, the inspection of significant trees on site compared well to the tree inventory
provided.
3. Trees to be removed include #3860 (70 in. diam. cottonwood), #3861 (a boxelder which is not
considered a significant tree), and #3873 (8 in. diam. ash), for a total of 78 in.
4. Total diameter inches of significant trees on the site = 304
5. Using the calculation in Ordinance 1307, the amount of required replacement diameter in. for tree
removal would be 27 in.

6. Adding up the total diameter in. of trees to be planted, according to the approved landscape plan,
yields a total of 32 in.; therefore, no additional tree replacement, beyond the trees to be planted in the
approved landscape plan, is required.
Please contact me if you have any questions regarding this inspection, plan review or report. Please
forward my comments to the developer.
