Box 2007 Oak Park Heights, MN 55082 Phone: 651.439.4439 Fax: 651.439.0574 October 13, 2011 Mr. Brett Harklau Harklau Leasing LLC & Harlau Leasing II LLC P.O. Box 603 Humboldt, IA 50548 Re: 5595 Memorial Ave. N., Oak Park Heights, MN (PIN 06.029.20.24.0033) — Signage Compliance Dear Mr. Harklau: I am writing to you as you are shown to be the owner of the above - referenced property as per Washington County. The City has had ongoing conversations with the building previous owner regarding a code compliance request related to the monument sign on the east side of the building. City Ordinance 401.15.G.15.c. directs that when signs are no longer used for signing when a business permanently closes or leaves the tenant space that they be removed within 30 days of the close of business. Both the Victory Fitness and Medi -Spa businesses have been gone in excess of 30 days. The former owner of the building was requested to remove the non - compliant sign panels and replace them with blank panels; however has failed to comply. Rather than replacement of the panels someone has opted to paint over the cut text portions of the original panels. This is an outstanding City Ordinance violation and must be remedied sooner than later. This letter directs that you coordinate compliance by removal of the panels, which advertise businesses no longer situated within the building and replace them with blank panels that match those in place. You are directed to have this compliance met no later than October 27, 2011. Failure to meet compliance shall result in this matter being forwarded to the Oak Park Heights Police Department for misdemeanor citation consideration to you personally. The previous owners had contacted a sign company to make the alterations, which submitted permit for the work and then cancelled job. If you would like their contact information or information for other sign contractors licensed by the City, please let me know. Please contact me immediately with any questions you may have.
