MINUTES OF MEETING HELD DECEMBER 10, 1973
Meeting called to order by Mayor Johnson. Present: Mondor, Groth, Torgerson, Johnson,
Heuer, Eckberg and L. Witte. Absent: Sommerfeldt.
Minutes of the November 12th meeting were read and approved on a motion by Mondor.
Seconded by Torgerson. Carried.
Mr. Boosalis of Shelter Corp. and Mr. Boran of Borson Construction Co. appeared
to resolve utility connection for their Birchwood Apartment complex at 63rd St. N.
and Osgood Avenue N. They will connect to the services as soon as the required
fees have been paid.
Swager Bros. requested a Special Use Permit for a fence being constructed behind
"Action Rentals" building which will be used as a storage area. Mr. Sybrant, a
resident of the area, expressed concern over the effect the "compound" would have on the
general area and questioned the procedure that was used. Torgerson moved to issue
-a Special Use Permit subject to compliance to screening requirement to be stipulated
by the Planning Consultant and the safety precautions determihsd by the Fire Marshall
for areas containing gasoline storage. Seconded by Groth. Carried.
V.F.W. building construction was reviewed by Mr. Witte. Mondor moved to grant a
10 ft. front yard set back variance from 40 ft. to 30 ft. Seconded by Torgerson.
Carried. Torgerson moved to grant a Special Use Permit which is required to allow
the Club to locate in an RB district, subject to a parking plan which will be •
resolved at the January meeting. Swager Bros., Building Official, Planning Consultant
and Village Attorney will present a proposal for parking to the Council for their
review by January 7, 1974. Seconded by Mondor. Carried.
Groth made a motion to authorize Building Official to issue Building Permit to
Swager Bros. for V.F.W. Club building. Seconded by Torgerson. Carried.
