Dear Larry:
The Brown's Creek Watershed District (BCWD) conducted an inspection for erosion and sedimentation
control issues at the site noted above on 4/11/2011. The following report summarizes the field inspection
findings and describes areas of compliance /non- compliance with the BCWD permit Rule 3.0 Erosion control.
Our inspections will be using the procedures and protocols defined in the Minnesota Pollution Control
Agency (MPCA) National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) General Stormwater Permit for
Construction Activity.
INSPECTION REPORT
Grade
B - GOOD This grade describes the overall condition of the site.
Status Erosion Control Requirements
Compliant All positive slopes within 200' of a water of the state or conveyance to a water of the state must
have temporary protection or permanent cover within 7, 14, or 21 days, depending on the slope (or
sooner if a special water).
Comments: Design calls for roof drainage onto steep exposed slope on west side of site.
Temporary down drains may be necessary to convey roof water until final stabilzation of
_ slope with vegetation.
Compliant The normal wetted perimeter of temporary or permanent ditch that drains water must be stabilized
within 24 hrs of connection (200' back from the surface water).
Comments:
Not Applicable Temporary or permanent energy dissipation must be installed at outlets connected to surface water
(required within 24 hours of connection to a surface water)?
Comments:
Status Sediment Control Requirements
Compliant Sediment discharge must be adequately controlled and minimized.
Comments: -
Not Applicable Temporary sedimentation basins required for disturbance over 10 acres, or less than 5 acres if near
NPDES identified special water areas.
Comments:
Compliant Inlet control devices must be installed and maintained at all inlets.
Comments:
Compliant Down gradient perimeter controls must be installed and maintained.
Comments:
Not Applicable Slope breaks must be installed on 3:1 slopes or greater with unbroken slope lengths exceeding 75
feet.
Comments:
Compliant Temporary soil stockpiles must have effective sediment controls and not be placed in a surface
water or storm water conveyance.
Comments:
Status Maintenance Requirements
2
Compliant Erosion and sediment control BMP must be adequately maintained
Comments:
Not Applicable Temporary sedimentation basin maintenance performed (required when collected sediment reaches
%2 basin volume)
Comments:
Not Applicable Sediment deposits in ditches or surface waters must be removed within 24 -hours
Comments: -
Compliant Minimization and cleanup of sediment tracking on paved surfaces
Comments: - Maintain rock track pad to prevent sediment from leaving site. Avoid vehicles
parking in mud when possible.
•

are in place.

Status Inspection Requirements
Not Inspected Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan on site
Comments:
Not Inspected Inspections /maintenance forms completed (inspections required 1 per 7 days or within 24 hours of a
.0.5 inch precipitation event)?
Comments:
Status Stormwater I\lanagement Requirements
Pretreatment prior to discharge to surface water (> 1 -acre impervious)
Comments:
Status Surface water or off -site im )acts
Compliant Untreated dewatering causing turbid discharges to surface waters or erosion off site
