Re: Upgrading of Commercial Manually Read Water. Meters
. The City of Oak. Park Heights has been in the process of eliminating commercial manually -read
water meters for the past two years. This project is one of our on going efforts to minimize our
water rates: By upgrading our customers water meters and installing radio readers we can avoid
having to institute a manual reading charge. The cost - for the upgrade will be shared by the City
and'the owners with the City absorbing the costs to upgrade or replace the water meters and the
radio installation costs. The cost of the radio equipment will be passed on to the owner.
The current cost for the radio- reading device is $140 each. Each device can be wired to read two
water meters. For buildings with more than two water meters, in close proximity we can install
multiplexer units that can read up to 16 water meters with a single radio. Your organization
currently has one water meter_ therefore your cost will be $140.00:
One of our public works `employees will be contacting the facility personnel at your Oak Park
Heights location to arrange a convenient time for to have your meters upgraded or replaced and
the radio installed. You will be invoiced for $140 after the radio is installed.
