7:00 P.M. TUESDAY, MAY 11, 2010
CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES
Call to Order /Pledge of Allegiance /Approval of Agenda: The meeting was
called to order at 7:42 p.m. by Mayor Beaudet. Present: Councilmembers
Abrahamson, McComber, Runk, and Swenson. Staff present: City Administrator
Johnson, City Attorney Vierling, City Engineer Long, and City Planner Richards.
Absent: None.
Councilmember Swenson, seconded by Councilmember McComber, moved to
approve the Agenda. Carried 5 -0.
II. Department /Council Liaison Reports:
A. Planning Commission: City Planner Richards reported that the next
meeting of the Planning Commission was set for May 13 at 7:00 p.m. He
stated that the commission would be continuing discussion on the design
guidelines. Richards stated an application was received and was still
pending and would likely be on the June agenda.
B. Parks Commission: Councilmember McComber reported that the next
• Parks Commission meeting was set for May 17 starting with a
walkthrough at Autumn Hills Park at 5:30 p.m. and then moving on to
Brekke Park where the regular meeting would follow that walkthrough.
C. Water Management Organizations /Middle St. Croix: Mayor Beaudet
reported that the next meeting of the Middle St. Croix Watershed
Management Organization was scheduled for May 13 at 7:00 p.m. at the
Washington Conservation District Office.
D. Other Liaison/Staff Reports: Councilmember McComber reported that a
Beyond the Yellow Ribbon Community meeting was held on May 6 and
was well attended. She stated the next step was to develop an action plan.
III. Visitors/Public Comment:
A. Presentation by Greater Stillwater Chamber of Commerce: Jennifer
Severson of the Greater Stillwater Chamber of Commerce provided on
update to the council on new initiatives.
B. Recycling Award: Administrative Secretary Pinski reported that Ann
Bernard of 5859 Oakgreen Court North was chosen as the recycling award
winner.

C. 2010 Storm Sewer Improvements — Award Bid — to Miller Excavating
D. Appoint Ms. Jessica Anderson to the Oak Park Heights Internship Position
Councilmember McComber, seconded by Councilmember Runk, moved to
approve the Consent agenda. Roll call vote taken. Carried 5 -0.
V. Public Hearings:
None
VI. Old Business:
A. City Hall Facility: Mayor Beaudet reported that an open house was
scheduled for the new City Hall facility on May 15 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00
p.m.
VII. New Business:
None
• VIII. Closed Session:
City Attorney Vierling reported that the City Council would move into a closed
session pursuant to Minnesota Statute 13.d.05. He stated the closed session
would be tape recorded and that the recording would be kept for three years as
required by statute.
The City Council recessed into closed session at 8:10 p.m. The City Council
reconvened its regular meeting at 8:24 p.m.
City Attorney Vierling reported that a motion was made in closed session and was
passed unanimously.
IX. Adjournment:
Councilmember McComber, seconded by Councilmember Swenson, moved to
adjourn at 8:25 p.m. Carried 5 -0.
