Arnold 803 Vendell St. Buffalo, MN 55313 -2954 Ref: Home Maintenance @ 14872 Upper 55 St. N., Oak Park Heights, MN 55082 Property ID: 04- 029 -20 -14 -0072 Dear Ms. Arnold, In response to a complaint on the condition of the residence referenced above, I conducted a site investigation on November 17 and found the following violations to the City's Zoning Ordinance and adopted Building Code: Ord. 401.15.C.8.a2 - -- Covers the maintenance of the structure. 1) The siding on both the house and the garage is damaged and needs to be repaired. Damaged siding should be replaced, and missing corner pieces are to be replaced. In addition, after the repairs are made to both building structures they are to be painted. The other alternative is to remove the siding and replace it with a maintenance free siding of your choice. 2) The shingles on both roofs are buckled and need to be removed and replaced with new shingles of your choice. 3) The landings at both the front and rear doors are in violation of the Building Code. The rise is too high and the structure's slope is too steep, which creates a safety hazard to the public. These need to be removed and replaced with new landings and steps as needed to comply with the requirements of the Building Code. Please note a building permit is required for the roof replacement, residing, and for the replacement of the concrete stoops. If a contractor is hired to do these projects they are to be licensed by the State of Minnesota. The violations listed above are to be brought into compliance with the City's Zoning Ordinance and Building Code within 30 days of the date of this letter. If at that time compliance is not met, the City will have no alternative other than to take further-legal action.
