Adjourn ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY SEPTEMBER 13, 2011 MEETING MINUTES 1. Call to Order /Approval of Agenda President Abrahamson called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. Present: Vice - President Beaudet, Secretary McComber, Treasurer Runk, Board Member Swenson, Attorney Vierling, City Administrator Johnson, Public Works Director Kegley, City Engineer Long, City Planner Richards, and Deputy Clerk Pinski. Absent: None. Vice - President Beaudet, seconded by Member Swenson, moved to approve the Agenda. Carried 5 -0. 2. Approve Meeting Minutes — March 8, 2011 Vice - President Beaudet, seconded by Secretary McComber, moved to approve the Minutes. Carried 5 -0. 3. HWY 36 and Osgood Avenue / Former Denny Hecker Site Rusty Fifield of Northland Strategies was present at the meeting and reviewed drawings of lot configurations and building mass using different street alignments. He reported that it made sense that if the City had resources to acquire property, it should. He stated that did not mean that the City would need to require immediate tear -down of existing structures. He also stated that improving traffic flow in that area would help attract developers. McComber suggested finding out if MnDOT would be interested in a joint agreement on using TIGER funds. Member Swenson requested Rusty Fifield find out what percentage of commercial property was vacant. Fifield indicated he would do tax increment calculations and would submit them to City Administrator Johnson. Secretary McComber requested more accurate numbers for the potential total cost for the frontage road alignments. Secretary McComber, seconded by Member Swenson, moved to direct staff to obtain that background information. Carried 5 -0. 4. Bell Property Update No discussion. The EDA Board will bring this back at a future meeting. 5. Adjourn Member Swenson, seconded by Secretary McComber, moved to adjourn at 6:02 p.m. Carried 5 -0.
