The advertisement I am referred to in my email is the business listing in the current telephone directory that we just received. The City recognizes the home based business in operation until such time it is notified that the business has ceased operation. To this end, I must receive a letter from you - with Mr. Kott's sign off - as he is the owner of the home occupation permit, stating that the business is not operating in any manner at the residence. Upon receipt of such letter, I will close the home occupation permit and record the closure to Mr. Kott's property file. If for any reason, the business or any aspect of it returns to the residence a new home occupation permit will need to be applied for. Please be reminded that home based businesses are required by City Ordinance to obtain a home occupation license. Businesses operating from homes without having obtained such a license are in violation of City Ordinance. City Ordinance violations are treated as misdemeanor offenses and may result in citation to the homeowner. I appreciate your taking a few minutes to prepare a letter so that I can properly close Mr. Kott's home occupation permit. Julie A.
