I realized -that the current changes made to the floor system were necessary to add an addition course of block to the perimeter of the foundation wall.' This course is needed to allow for proper drainage of rain water away from the structure, and what is being constructed complies with the Building Code. Please note that the Building. Code requires that all changes to the approved building plans are to be submitted to the Building Inspection Department for review. Approval of the revised plans is needed prior to any alterations being made. 1 suggest that you obtain a` clean `copy of the building plans and make all of the changes that have been completed and desired alterations in red and submit them to me for approval. From our discussion this morning, here is a list of some items that should be noted in red: On the Foundation Plan sheet #3: 1) Show that the building width is changed to 32 feet 2) The floor system has changed from a truss floor system to TJl & Micro Lam Beam. Note the size of the TJIs and Beam. 3) Show the location of the post footing, and include the size and thickness of the pad. 4) Show the location of the two windows on the north wail and the egress window on the south wall including the window well. 5) Show a cross section of the exterior top block and the 2x6 framing with the insulation. 6) Show that the block size for the eight foot high walls has been changed from an eight inch block to a twelve inch block. 7) Show the new opening to the existing house. 8) Delete the seven foot entry foundation. First Floor Plan sheet #4: 1) Show that the garage depth has changed from 22 feet to 18 feet and relocate the common wall between the garage and the shop Show the location of the twenty minute fire rated door: Tree City U.S.A. 2) Show the new exterior door in the north wall of the shop. 3) Show the new twenty minute fire- rated door from the shop to the stair landing. _ 4)`, Show the new location of the basement stairs andindicate the direction of. travel: 5) Show the new hallway and new location of the half bath and note that plumbing walls are to be 2x5 inch walls. _ 6) Show.the bathroom fan. 7) Show the new location of the closet. 8) Show the new entry wall, and show the location of the front door: ' 9) Show the location and size of the Micro Lam Beam that is to support the second floor. 10) Delete the entry walls and the common wall between the garage and shop: - Basement Floor Plan sheet #5: 1) Indicate the direction oftravel onth:e stairs. 2) Change the width from 33 feet to 32 feet: 3) Locate all three-windows. 4) Show the existing house wall lines. 5) Show the location of the opening in the wall from the new basement to the existing. 6) Delete the sump pump basket. 7) Show the location and size of the post footing. 8) Show the `smoke detector. Electrical Plan sheet #6 may be deleted because it does not show anything. Please note that a separate electrical permit is required, and the application may found on the Minnesota State web site - If you have any questions you may contact Joe Wheaton, the state electrical inspector. He may be reached at 612- 866 -3784 from 7:00 a.m.' to 8 :30 a.rn.:on weekdays only Mechanical Plan sheet #7 may be deleted because it does not show anything, but please note that a separate mechanical - permit is required: Elevation Plan sheet #8: 1) The south elevation is- drawn. incorrectly and needs to be red -lined or redrawn to show the existing wall Tine and true roof lines. 2) The roof plan needs to be red- lined. 3) The west elevation is drawn incorrectly and should show the second floor walls and roof line. 4) The cross section should show exterior foundation wall insulation and delete the- interior 2x4 stud wall and insulation: Garage Plan sheet #9: _ 1) Front elevation: show header size and type of material: 2) Side elevation: show the location of the exterior door, and window. 3) Detail P2 - Wall construction: show U or L corners. 4) Detail C: indicate the footing depth. . Second Floor Plan on the ,8. X 11" sheet: 1). Delete and draw a new full size floor plan of this floor" showing: the existing wall limes, any changes to the existing structure, -and the corn"pletefloor plan for the new second - floor.
