Re: Temporary "Special Event" Signage
To Whom It May Concern:
Please find enclosed City Ordinance 401.15.G.8 as it relates to temporary signage (Le.: banners) and a
special event permit application. All Special event signage requires a permit issued by the City. There
is no fee for this permit; however placing temporary signage without obtaining a permit is a violation
of the City's Ordinance requirements, which may be subject to misdemeanor penalties.
A special event permit has not been issued to you for the banner placed to the S. side of your store,
nor has one been requested. Presently your store is in violation of Oak Park Heights Zoning Ordinance
401, which regulates temporary "special event" and permanent signage.
Please have this banner removed or have obtained a special event permit by the end of your
business day Tuesday, January 20, 2009. A site visit will be made the morning of the 21 to verify
ordinance compliance.
City Ordinance allows 50 days per calendar year for special event permits. You may view the sign
ordinance and the special event information and obtain additional copies of the special event permit
application by visiting the City's web site at www.cityofoakparkheights.com. Permits may be
delivered, faxed or emailed to my attention.
I am always happy to help you with questions related to ordinance requirements for your business and
appreciate your immediate attention to this request, as well as your ongoing cooperation in following
the regulations for special event signage as established by City Ordinance.
Sincerely,
Juli- ultman
