Since you may have recently purchased this property you may not be aware that the City does only allow certain types of home occupations. Enclosed you will fmd a copy of the City Ordinance related to the use of residential property for business reasons. Specifically, operations such as yours are not allowed in a residential area and it is in violation of City Ordinance 401.15 M and its components as you have not secured a home occupation permit; your business is relegated to the garage /accessory structure; your operations change the character to the surrounding residential neighborhood and you have exterior storage of equipment and trailers as utilized in your operations. Related to this issue, City Ordinance 401.15. F.4.f.1 precludes the parking of "...nn- qualifying commercial vehicles, (or) commercial equipment..." in a residential district. Obviously you typically maintain have at least two trailers of commercial nature at your site. Unfortunately, you must cease in the use of this property as a base of operations for your roofing business and you may not park these trailers at this address.
