Oak Park Heights, MN 55082 Re: Special Event Permits Dear VFW Manager & /or Quartermaster: Please be advised that City Ordinance 401.15.G. regulates the placement of temporary — special event — signs (banners, Etc.). I have enclosed a copy of the special event permit application and ordinance language for your review and use. If you have any questions regarding the requirements please feel free contact me. The "Fish Fry" banner currently placed at Omaha Ave. is an example of special event signage which requires a special event permit. With this letter you are directed to remove the banners prior to Monday, March 19 a site check shall be made to verify that it has been removed. City Ordinance directs that no special event signs or displays shall occur without first having obtained an approved special event permit. Permit applications may be faxed to my attention, mailed to or dropped off at City Hall. Please note that this is a City Ordinance requirement and that there is no charge for the permit. Failure to obtain one prior to placing special event signage however is City Ordinance violation, which offense is subject to a misdemeanor citation.
