St. Paul, MN 55109 Re: Oak Park Heights Location @ 5898 Omaha Ave. N. Dear Mr.Cooley, I recently noticed your business operation at 5898 Omaha Ave. N. Unfortunately, no one was on site when I stopped by to welcome you and make you aware of some City Ordinance requirements that pertain to your business operation. Your business is located in the B -2, General Business District zone, which does permit retail sales; however it does not allow open and outdoor service, sales or rental as a principal or accessory use without a conditional use permit. Please discontinue placement of golf carts or other items to the outside of your business space. I have enclosed City Ordinance 401.30, B -2, General Business District for your review and reference. Ordinance 401.15.G.8, Special Events, regulates special event signage within the city. Special event signage includes banners and other temporary signage and display such as those you currently have mounted to the ramp guard rails and which are in violation of City Ordinance requirements. This ordinance is also enclosed for your review and use. Please complete the enclosed special event permit application for the signs mounted to the handicap ramp and return them to me no later than April 27, 2010 or remove the signs. There is no fee for this permit. You may return your application to me via mail, fax, e-mail or personally at the City Hall front counter. At such time you plan any remodeling or permanent signage, please be sure to contact me for the appropriate work permits and to address any questions you may have regarding the same. - Y City of Oak Park Heights John Cooley April 20, 2010 Klassic Karts Page 2 I appreciate your prompt attention to containing your retail sales to the interior of your store space and to either removing the temporary signage you have installed or obtaining a special event permit for their placement. In the event you would like to consider seeking a conditional use permit for your business operations, the development application, can be found at the City's website, along with a wealth of other information including our full code of City Ordinances, a variety of forms and handouts and more, at www.cityofoakparkheights.com. I welcome you to contact me anytime and look forwarding to working with you in the days ahead.
