Re: Special Event (Temporary) Signage
Dear Store Manager:
City Ordinance 401.15.G.8 regulates Special Event signage within the City of Oak Park Heights. The
ordinance allows up to 50 days of special event signage per calendar year and requires that a "no fee"
special event permit be applied for and issued prior to any special event signage or devices being
placed at a business site. A copy of this ordinance and two special event permit applications have
been enclosed for your convenience.
The "A- frame" sign you have been displaying at the store common area is an example of special event
signage and is currently in violation of City Ordinance requirements in that a permit has not been
obtained for its placement.
No signage may be placed off the business property site. Recently a sign was placed near the senior
high school and was collected by City Staff. You may collect this sign from the City Hall administration
area prior to August 26, 2009. If it has not been collected by the 27 of August it will be discarded.
With this letter you are requested to cease placement of any signs until such time you have applied
for and received a special event permit for their placement. Any signs found in place without a permit
having been issued will be considered a violation of city ordinance and treated accordingly.
I welcome you to contact me with any questions regarding this letter and special event permit
requirements. Thank you for your anticipated compliance to City Ordinance requirements.
cerely,
Ju'- Hultman
