2007-12-03 Arborist Report
Tulle Hultman From: K.D. Widin [kdwidin@comcast.net] Sent: Monday, December 03, 2007 3:14 PM To: Eric Johnson; mvierling a©eckberglammers.com; dpostler a@bonestroo.com; srichards @nacpianning.com; Jimmy Butler; Judy Hoist; Julie Hultman Subject: Oak Green Village Landscape Installation OPH Staff - I have inspected the landscaping installed to date at the Oakgreen Village development site and have the following observations: 1. Changes have been made to the locations and species of trees and shrubs planted. I have been in contact with the landscape contractor, have previously inspected portions of the landscaping and approved these changes, which are positive for the development (please see my report on OG Village dated 10/2/07). 2. There are approximately 50 trees specified to be planted on the N and W sides of the pond, S of the retaining wall and along 58th St.. I counted approximately 38 deciduous trees (maple, river birch, willow, bicolor oak) (plus 6 very small deciduous trees) , and 12 evergreens (white spruce and white pine) planted in those areas. 3. On the berm between the S and N units, the plan specified 20 deciduous and evergreen trees and 54 have been planted there. Some of the trees, originally shown to be planted in front of the units, were re- located to the berm, leaving flowering crabs in front of the units. 4. Tree plantings along the berms which run N -S are adequate and diverse. 5. Approximately 19 deciduous and evergreen trees have been planted N of the N townhome units, between the townhomes and the stormwater pond. No foundation plantings have been added around those units yet. 6. Trees appear to be alive and healthy, are of good form and meet or exceed sizes required by code. 7. Shrub diversity has been increased around the townhome units, plants appear to be of good form, alive and healthy. In my opinion, landscaping on this site so far is in compliance with development requirements. If you have any questions regarding this inspection or report, please contact me.
