Dear Mr. Butler,
Following are the responses to review report #4. I will refer to each item
by number and heading.
General Comments
1.a. Mechanical and Electrical drawings have been submitted under separate
cover.
b. Fire - stopping submittals and shop drawings will be provided for all
penetrations.
2. We will comply — calculations will be provided by mechanical
contractor.
3. Detail 35/5.2 indicates roof drain with overflow drain this will occur at
each flat roof
4. We will comply 2hr area separations have been added at each end of
area 11

Accessibility Comments
1. Tub and showers are fully backed allowing for location of grab bars per
SBC1341.1640 and figure 81.
2. We will comply dimension is to be from front of water closet.
3a. Locker Rooms G006 and G008 have been revised to comply with clear
floor areas for toilets

Means of Egress Comments
1. Tech /Learning has been made smaller so that it's occupant load is less
than 50 and therefore does not require two exits or panic Hardware. The parlor
has two exits and is provided with panic Hardware
2. Door G124 and G124a Have been added. G124a is the exterior door for
the second means of egress
3. This has been reconfigured to comply.
4. The second floor has been redesigned to offices and storage the offices
have a combined sq. ft of 793 which is an occupant load of 8 the storage area
has a sq. ft. of 267 which is less than 1 occupant. Therefore we have a combined
occupant load of less than 10

Fire - resistive Comments
la. These rooms have been provided with rated walls and doors to comply
b. We have taken the corridor rating around Lounge G114 this is a waiting
area for the receptionist the remainder of the rooms have been provided with
rated doors
c. Parlor G124 has been provided with a rated door

4. We will comply these doors are to be 90 min. door and frames on
magnetic hold opens

6. We have changed swing on door C109 to comply
7. the rear wall is to be sheetrocked to provide rating

9. Sidelights have been deleted at doors G109 and G109A frame will be
revised
10. Sidelights have been deleted at the majority of these doors the remainder
will have additional fire protection heads to protect the glazed opening.
11. The door and sidelight have been revised to delete the sidelight
12. these glazed openings are to be 45 min. wired glass in a hollow metal
frame.
13. The Museum has a 1 hour lay — in ceiling
However as we have discussed the entire Towncentre has been classified as
TYPE I I N non rated and does not require a 1 hour assembly
14. The building has been reclassified as a TYPE II N building and as such
does not require the structural frame to be protected by a rated assembly

17. Frame type 25 is shown on sheet 6.1 of the Independent Building set it is
a hollow metal frame with sidelight with a 20 min. rating and' " tempered wire
glass
