OF THE
PLANNING COMMISSION
CITY OF OAK PARK HEIGHTS
WASHINGTON COUNTY, MINNESOTA
A RESOLUTION RECOMMENDING TO THE CITY COUNCIL THAT
AT LEAST A 150 FOOT BUFFER AREA ADJACENT TO THE
RIVER HILLS DEVELOPMENT BE PRESERVED IN THE
VALLEY SENIOR SERVICES ALLIANCE PROPERTY
SOUTH OF 58 STREET
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Oak Park Heights has
reviewed the Comprehensive Plan and zoning map for that area adjacent to the River Hills
development in the Valley Senior Services Alliance property south of 58 Street; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission concluded that a buffer area be preserved
between the established River Hills neighborhood and a townhome development; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission recognizes that 150 foot buffers to
existing residential neighborhoods were established in the Boutwells Landing development; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission acknowledged that the Parks Commission
voted to recommend to the City Council that at least a 150 foot buffer area be purchased and
preserved by the City as open space.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PLANNING
COMMISSION FOR THE CITY OF OAK PARK HEIGHTS THAT THE PLANNING
COMMISSION RECOMMENDS THE FOLLOWING:
That the 150 foot buffer area adjacent to the River Hills development be acquired and preserved
by the City in the Valley Senior Services Alliance property south of 5 8 Street.
