CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES
I. Call to order/ Ple of Alle g iance/Approval of A in was

called to order at 7:00 p.m. b Ma Beaudet. Present: Councilmembers
Abrahamson, Doerr, McComber and Swenson. Staff present: Administrator
Johnson, Cit Attorne Vierlin Cit En Postler, and Cit Planner
Richards, Absent.- None,
Ma Beaudet added "State Storm Sewer Lobb as item C under Old
Business. C ouncilmember McComber, seconded b Doerr, moved to approve the
A as amended. Carried 5 — 0.
III Department/Council Liaison Reports:
A. lannin omm Cit Planner Richards reported that the Plannin
Commission held a public hearin for the Oak Villa General Plan
at the Januar 8 meetin and has recommended Council approval. The
next meetin will be held Februar 12, 2004.
B. Parks Commission: Councilmember Abraharnson reported that the Parks
Commission will meet on Januar 26, 2004 at 6:30 p.m.
C. Cable Commission: Councilmember Doerr reported that Dave N of
Comcast will attend the Januar 27 Council meetin to discuss new
technolo
D. Water Manage nent Organizations/ Middle St, Croix: Ma Beaudet
reported that the Middle St. Croix will meet at 7:00 p.m. Januar 15 at the
Soil and Water Conservation District office.
E. Other Liaison/Staff Reports: ' Councilmember McComber reported that the
Stakeholders g roup will meet on Januar 27, 9:00 a.m. at the Stillwater
Cit Hall. Ma Beaudet reported that a report on the Coalition of Utilit
Cities meetin provided at the next Council meetin

Ill. Visitors/Public Comment:
Visitors:
David Benson, 5668 Novak Avenue North, read a statement concernin the
proposed Oak Villa South development. Mr. Benson re that the

City purchase the 150 foot strip of land to act as a buffer for the River Hills
neighborhood.
Mauritz Anderson, 13902 56 Street North, asked the Council to address traffic
concerns when considering the proposed Oakgreen village South development.
Amy Brown, 13898 56 Street North, stated that the 0 akgre en village South area
is surrounded by trails and should be kept as a green area.
Recycling Award: Administrative Secretary Johnson ann ounced that Sherri and
Larry Cabel of 5880 Dxboro Avenue Forth were selected to receive the recycling
award.

Councilmernber Swenson, seconded by McComber, moved to approve the
Consent Agenda minus items B and D. Roll call vote taken. Carried 5 — 0.
Mayor Beaudet, seconded by Councilmernber McComber, moved to approve the
December 30, 2003 City Council meeting minutes. Carried 4 --- 0 —1, Swenson
abstained.
City Administrator Johnson stated that the Resolution designating official
newspapers should be amended to state that the Courier News is the official
newspaper for publication of only non -time sensitive items. Mayor Beaudet,
seconded by Councilmernber Doerr, moved to adopt the Resolution as amended.
Roll call vote taken. Carried 5 — 0.
