PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES
Thursday, July 12, 2012 — Oak Park Heights City Hall
I. Call to Order: Chair Bye called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Present: Commissioners
Dougherty and Squyres; City Administrator Johnson, and City Planner Richards. Absent:
Commissioner LeRoux and Commission Liaison Abrahamson.
II. Approval of Agenda: Commissioner Squyres, seconded by Commissioner Dougherty,
moved to approve the Agenda as presented. Carried 3 - 0.
III. Adjourn to Worksession — Planning Commission Vacancy Interviews: Commissioner
Squyres, seconded by Commissioner Dougherty, moved to adjourn to the worksession for
the purpose of Planning Commission interview. Carried 3 - 0.
IV. Reconvene Regular Meeting: Commissioner Squyres, seconded by Commissioner
Dougherty, moved to reconvene the regular meeting of the Planning Commission. Carried 3
- 0.
A. Commission Appointment Recommendation: Discuss and make recommendation for
appointment to the Planning Commission vacancy for a 3 -year term commencing
July 1, 2012 and culminating on May 31, 2015.
Commissioner Squyres, seconded by Commissioner Dougherty, moved to recommend City
Council appointment of Robin Anthony to the Planning Commission. Carried 3 — 0.
V. Approval of June 14, 2012 Meeting Minutes: Commissioner Dougherty, seconded by
Commissioner Squyres, moved to approve the minutes as presented. Carried 3 - 0.
VI. Department /Commission Liaison / Other Reports: City Administrator Johnson informed the
Commission that the City would be holding a playground build event at the Moelter Fly Ash
site that is being developed into a city park. Volunteers are being sought for the build that
will occur on Saturday, August 18, 2012 with a rain date of Saturday, August 25, 2012. It is
anticipated that the event will begin at 8:00 a.m., weather dependent. Interested volunteers
should contact city hall or Councilmember McComber.
