Re: Special Event (Temporary) & Permanent Signage
Dear Owner /Operator,
The signs you have been placing at the front of your business on Omaha and on the corner of
60 St. and Omaha Ave., in front of Super America advertising your business violate City
Ordinance 401.15.G.
Off -site advertisement is not permitted; signage related to your business is to be located
upon your business property. Temporary "Special Event "permits are required for temporary -
advertisement signs that are placed to the exterior of your business site (upon the wall or
land). I have enclosed the special event permit ordinance and a permit application for your
use.
Please note that the permit is available to you at no charge; however failure to obtain one for
your special event signage /event is a city ordinance violation that can result in a
misdemeanor citation to you. Kindly remove the signs no later than Wednesday, September
5, 2012. If you wish to display temporary advertisement signs upon your business property
site, submit a special event permit for its placement. Signs found in violation of City
Ordinance 401.15.G may be impounded.
Additionally, City Ordinance requires a permit for the review and installation of permanent
signage. The permanent sign which has been placed to the multi- tenant pylon sign was
installed without a permit and is presently in violation of City Ordinance 401.15.G.
I have enclosed a permit application for your use in securing the required permanent sign
permit. Please remit this to my attention with a colored photo of the sign installed, noting
the dimensions of the panel placed. If a contractor installed the sign, they should also have
been licensed by the City for Sign Installation, prior to the sign having been placed.
•
Remit your permanent sign permit application for the sign installed to the multi- tenant pylon
sig and supporting materials to my attention no later than Tuesday, September 11, 2012.
City Ordinance 401.15.G. can be viewed in its entirety on the City's webpage at
www.citvofoakparkheights.com. I appreciate your prompt attention to this compliance request
and welcome you to contact me with any questions you may have.
Sincerely,
