HomeMy WebLinkAbout2012-09-07 Weekly Notes Reference - Continuation CITY OF OAK PARK HEIGHTS 0 M emo TO: City Council Members FROM: Ericohnson, Ci ministtator WEEKLY.NOTES — September 7 2012 Please see the updated Meeting schedule for September & October 2012 Zoning / Development Items 1. The home the City council ordered razed at 15405 has now been removed by the owners and the site is cleared. The site looks very nice. I suspect that now that the site is cleared the owners may have some renewed interests from possible purchasers? 2. The Building Official has supplied copies of various code enforcement letters; White Castle signage; need for building permits at 15403 58 Street; removal of waste/brush/materials from Stillwater Bowl; New Horizon did not secure a no -cost permit for some temporary signage. 3. I have sent a letter to Boutwell's Landing advising them that their resident who has planted a row of roses/flowers, etc. on Autumn Hill's Park property is fine, but that he may not mow other lands owned by the City. See enclosed letter to Deb Dufrane. 4. The City has sent a letter to the neighborhood to be likely impacted by the Olene Ave. storm sewer project. The letter is a simple advisement of what to expect and timeline. See enclosed. 5. Fury Motors has submitted a CUP application so that they may occupy the former Routson Building for a Jeep Dealership. This would be a temporary location until a new building was constructed at the site, upon which the proposal is to tear down the current building. This matter will be on the October Planning Commission Agenda. On a related note, while the City did not receive any grant funding from the State Wide competition, the City did make the initial cut. I have enclosed the final scoring. Lastly, the EDA should plan a meeting in the near term to consider setting up a new TIF district in this area so as to capture any new net revenues from the construction of a new dealership. These funds could be needed to purchase other related properties. I will send out a separate memo on this matter next week. t/ St. Croix River Crossing: -C I have received a short email from MNDOT's Peter Davich that MNDOT will not be removing any trees this fall season, but this will be part of the design build project for 2013. Xcel Energy did ask for a continuance for the installation of the parking lot at the fly -ash site due to the request of the new King plant manager who wanted to be brought up to speed on the project. I was informed of this late yesterday afternoon via a voice mail from John Wertish of Xcel Energy. This matter will be on the October Agenda. Staff will be meeting with MNDOT on Tuesday to discuss utility design and specification requirements. 1 of 30
