Oak Park Heights, MN 55082 Re: 14908 Upper 55th St., Oak Park Heights, MN - Site Maintenance Washington County Parcel ID 04.029.20.14.0069 BAC Mortgage Lien Document 1158587 To Whom It May Concern: In response to a complaint on the condition of the above - referenced property, I conducted a site investigation and found the following in violation of City Ordinances: Oak Park Heights Nuisance Ordinance 1109.03.H - All "noxious weeks, tall grasses, and other rank growths" shall not exceed a height of more than six (6) inches. The grass at this property is well beyond twelve (12) inches tall and weeds beneath the rear second story deck need to be removed and treated. A copy of this ordinance has been enclosed for your review and use. Oak Park Heights Zoning Ordinance 401.15.C.8.a.2 addresses the maintenance of the structure. There are missing guards on the stairway at the second story deck to the rear of the house, resulting in a gap at the up portion of the stairs which a person could fall through. The stairways themselves are in poor condition. The rod -iron handrail at the front entry concrete stoop has pulled away from its anchoring to the stoop and is no longer securely attached to the exterior of the home. Both of these situations create a safety hazard and need to be corrected by their repair, removal and /or replacement. Corrective remedies shall comply with the Minnesota Building Code and Local Ordinance requirements and shall be performed by a licensed contractor. Please contact the City for a work permit prior to performing any corrective work to these areas. In addition, there is a dead tree in the side yard that should be removed, the shed at the rear yard has had its door latch pulled away from the screws and the door knob has been busted away from the rear garage entry door. With this letter you are directed to address the above issues for compliance and have the weeds and grass mowed /maintained at the site no later than Sunday, May 24, 2012 and are further ordered to keep the property free from reoccurrence of this nuisance for 160 days. City of Oak Park Heights 14168 Oak Park Blvd. N. — P.O. Box 2007 Oak Park Heights, MN 55082 Phone: 651.439.4439 Fax: 651.439.0574 A compliance check shall be made after May 24, 2012. If the nuisance has not been abated, the City will enter the property to abate the nuisance and return periodically to keep the nuisance abated until the owner /occupant acknowledges their responsibility and provides reasonable assurance to the City for the continued care of the property so that the condition will not reoccur within the 160 day period. If the City is required to abate the nuisance, the City shall extend a tax against the above - reference property in the form on an assessment for staff, contractor, administration time and materials expended to abate the nuisance.
