Box 2007 • Oak Park Heights, MN 55082 -2007 • Phone: 651/439 -4439 • Fax: 651/439 -0574 I June 28, 2012 Mr. Randy Urtel 5862 Omaha Ave. N. Oak Park Heights, MN 55082 Ref: Permit # 2012 -00043 for building remodeling & volleyball court ! Dear Mr. Urtel, • Having heard that you had opened your volleyball court for use by the general public I did a final inspection of the project. I found the following violations to the City's Building Code: 1) This is an assembly area and you must post a sign stating no more than 49 occupants. Please note that more than 49 occupants within the combined area of the patio and volley ball court will require a second exit. 2) Provide a clear pathway to the exit gate. The table and chairs blocking that pathway must be relocated. 3) Stairs do not comply with Building Code. The risers must be the same height and the middle step tread should be the same length as the bottom stair tread. Attached is a copy of code sections addressing stairs, guards, and handrails for your review. 4) Handrails are required on each side of the stairs. See attachment for code requirements. 5) An electrical permit is required for the electrical work done. Have your contractor obtain that permit and call for all required inspections. You need to correct all of these violations and call for a final inspection of the project. Until the final inspection is made, approval granted by the Building Official for compliance to the Code, this area is not to be occupied. Please contact Julie Hultman, if you have any further questions.
