A RESOLUTION SUPPORTINTG THE LOCATION OF A CADILLAC DEALERSHIP AT
WITH STILLWATER MOTORS
Whereas, the City of Oak Park Heights is pleased to pass this Resolution in support of Stillwater Motor
Company's request to add the prestigious brand of Cadillac to its dealership in Oak Park Heights, MN
(Stillwater Area); and,
Whereas, Stillwater Motors and the Raduenz family has an exemplary record of customer service and is
well positioned and respected in our local community through its demonstrated smart business practices
necessary for sustainable operation and growth so critical to expansion in this market; and,
Whereas, Stillwater Motor Company was established in 1922 and has operated continuously for close to
88 years with close ties to the community, as demonstrated by its 25 year tradition of donating a car to our
high school graduation party as well as sponsoring many other charitable and community causes; and,
Whereas, their excellent business practices have also allowed them to expand and grow while others are
scaling back including a recent $8 million in remodeling and expansion to keep up with the increased
demand in their sales department, as well as upgrades to the dealership's service center and which now
has 36 service bays and on -site collision repair to serve its customers' needs; and,
Whereas, Stillwater Motors' service area is located in Washington County on Minnesota's eastern border
and historic area in our state which has continued to experience a period of high residential and
commercial growth; and,
• Whereas, the area supports several Fortune 500 companies headquarters and the community has a high
percentage of upper income residents; and
Whereas, other businesses in the area have adjusted their product lines to accommodate more affluent
customers, Stillwater Motors would also benefit from the opportunity to do the same in introducing
Cadillac to its dealership as consumers now seeking to high -end vehicles, particularly domestic product
lines and are now required to travel outside our City upwards of 30 -45 minutes to find a dealership.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council for the City of Oak Park Heights
does hope that you will act favorably on the request from Stillwater Motors, so that the Cadillac
brand is available to serve the demand for luxury vehicles in this area.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLEED that the City is confident that Stillwater Motors with its
infrastructure and exemplary record will be able to serve the needs of the current and potential
Cadillac owners for years to come, and we respectfully ask that give them your full consideration.
