Oak Park Heights, MN 55082 Re: Temporary /Special Event Advertisement — Special Event Permit Requirement Dear Manager: I am following up to my letter of June 24, 2009, wherein I advised you of City Ordinance 401.15.G.8, which regulates temporary, special event signage, within the City of Oak Park Heights. A copy of the ordinance and a special event permit application was enclosed and is being sent to you again. In my June 24, 2009 letter, l directed removal of the special event signage or submission of a permit application for its placement no later than the end of the day, Tuesday, June 30, 2009. I further notified you that there was no charge for this permit; however failure to obtain one is considered a City Ordinance violation, which may be treated as misdemeanor offense. A site visit was made today, wherein it was found that the banner by the drive through area had not been removed. Additional free standing, ground signs at the area, near the building were also in place. A special event permit has not been requested for these signs. As I notified you in my earlier letter, the banner placed at your business is considered special event signage, as is the other signage placed since my communication to you. A & W Restaurant continues to be in violation of City Ordinance 401.15.G.8 Special Events in that a permit has not been obtained for special event, advertisement display. At this time, you are hereby directed to remove all special event advertisements at the A & W Restaurant business site or have submitted and received a special event for its display prior to the end of the day, July 15, 2009. If a special event permit has not been issued by the end of the day July 15, 2009, a second compliance check shall be made. Compliance failure will be noted and the matter forwarded to the Oak Park Heights Police Department for their review and citation consideration. City of Oak Park Heights 14168 Oak Park Blvd. N.
